A Letter To Our Customers with Exciting News

Greetings, As a previous and hopefully future MageArray customer, I want to let you know about some exciting news about our company and our path going forward.

In 2014 we started MageArray as part of NextBits, an expert Magento Engineering company, to build Magento 1 extensions. Since then we have built and supported a large portfolio of Adobe Commerce / Magento 2 Extensions on hundreds of eCommerce sites. Our extensions are designed by experienced solution architects and developed by certified Magento engineers. Our extensions are available for purchase directly from our site, as well as from the Adobe Commerce Marketplace.

We believe that Adobe Commerce / Magento is the best option for many eCommerce businesses and will continue to be a leading eCommerce platform for a long-time. We also acknowledge that the last few years following the Adobe acquisition have not been super smooth. Despite this, we are excited by the momentum in the Magento Open Source community and we are committed to growing and supporting the Magento platform.

To this end, we have relaunched MageArray as a separate entity from Nextbits with new investment, and a renewed focus on building world-class Adobe Commerce / Magento extensions.

We are a Product company and our vision is to continue to build world-class extensions for Magento and to offer exceptional support. Our extensions reduce the time to market for new builds, lower the costs for maintaining functionality, and help our customers increase their ecommerce revenues.

We are guided by three main principles:

  1. Build World Class Adobe Commerce / Magento extensions
  2. Deliver Exceptional Support
  3. Engage in the Adobe Commerce (paid) and Magento (open source) ecosystems and help support the platform’s on-going evolution

Over the next 12 months we will be launching a variety of new Adobe Commerce B2B Extensions and Adobe Commerce / Magento B2C extensions. In addition, we will be launching new and enhanced versions of our existing extensions. Sign-up to be notified about these new extensions and updates.

As part of our commitment to providing World Class Adobe Commerce / Magento extensions and Exceptional Service, we are changing our licensing, support and updates model.

One of the main reasons for this change is the increasing cost of development and maintenance for our extensions. As you no doubt know, developing and maintaining high-quality Adobe Commerce / Magento extensions requires significant resources and expertise. In order to continue to invest in the development and improvement of our software, we must ask our users to contribute to these costs through paid maintenance & support licenses. Our extensions will continue to be reasonably priced, but we will no longer offer free extensions and free support. Starting March 1, 2023, all new purchases of our extensions will require a paid Support & Updates agreement. If you purchased an extension or downloaded an extension prior to March 1, 2023, then as of March 31, 2023 your use of the extension will be governed by our New License Agreement. As a reference, here is a link to our Legacy License Agreement that was in effect prior to March 1, 2023. Going forward all extensions will have support and update packages available for purchase. Customers that previously downloaded our Free Extensions or purchased an Extension, will continue to be able to maintain their Open Source code themselves, or purchase a support and update package from MageArray to receive extension updates & support services.

We believe that this paid license will allow us to further realize our goal of providing Exceptional Support to our customers. With the additional resources that licensing provides, we will be able to hire more support staff and offer more comprehensive documentation and training materials. We will also further invest in new products, especially Adobe Commerce / Magento B2B Extensions.

I am excited about the future of the Adobe Commerce / Magento community and look forward to working with you in the future.

Sincerely,

Jignesh Thummar
